Hi, I'm Eric Kern, also known as Hali, Kathris, or ZigZag. I'd like to welcome you to my archive of stories and photos, with art commissioned from Michelle Latta (www.tenthplanetart.com), Audrey Walker (Krazyklaws) (www.wolfmovie.com), and others. What you have here is something that I think is a little bit remarkable. It started as one story, written at the request of a friend. What it has become is eight series spanning the better part of a century in this universe I've created.

It's written like a television show, with seasons, regular cast members, and cliffhangers here and there. Based on the nature of the television market, and the baffling cancellation of shows like Firefly, it is unlikely that I would ever get all eight series produced on television the way I want to, which is mostly as is described here.

This work is a labor of love, with notable guest stars such as ZigZag, Cassie the Rock Vixen, Solange, Kuro, and others, some of which are fortunate enough to gain regular slots. As in the real casting process, 'actors' have turned me down for roles. I've had to rework some of the earlier versions, and some of the casting changes have unintentionally mirrored casting changes that occurred on some of the shows that inspired me.

I've always tried to challenge myself as a writer and story developer, seeing how characters would grow, finding what did and didn't work, and seeing if I could come up with new challenges. What developed as a result is a deep, involved story which stretches across eight different series. There's everything from starships to vampires, magic and technology, melding together in the Zeitgeist universe.

I see a lot of one time stories on the net or series where there are short arcs, and if you find one you really like, odds are it's over before too long. If you like long involved arcs, recurring guest stars, or scifi/fantasy, odds are you'll find a home here. Each series is planned to run a full 7 seasons, 22-26 episodes a season, with one notable exception.

I hope you read these stories and come away with something more than what you came with. I'm hopeful you'll like them enough so that you'll send me some fan feedback. The intro to Zeitgeist document tells what to expect from each concept, and I hope you'll find at least one you like.

Welcome to Zeitgeist.
